Police are investigating another case of carjacking after a 62-year-old man was held at gunpoint and pulled from his vehicle early on Saturday morning 16 November.
According to Florida SAPS spokesperson Captain Lydia Dikolomela, “The man was waiting in his car at a house in Hamberg Street to pick up a woman for church at around 6.50am when the incident happened.
“The victim says that while waiting, he was approached by one man who was armed with a 9mm firearm. The suspect then pointed it at him. The victim opened the door and was pulled out. Then the suspect drove off. The suspect is still at large.”
The victim said that the suspect was wearing black casual clothes and seemed to be from outside South African.
