It is that time of year for pupils again – matric final exams.

The ANC’s Zone 5 communications team has extended their best wishes to the matrics and added some helpful advice to boot.

The 2013 NCS examination officially commenced on 28 October.

“Writing this extremely important examination and passing it with good quality results will lay a solid foundation for your future,” says Raymond Martin of the communications team.

“We advise you to focus strongly on your preparation for the examination. In doing so, there is no limit to the goals and success you can achieve. Know that we are faced with challenges in our daily lives. The exam is merely a challenge which you should be dealing with in a focused, determined and enthusiastic manner,” says Martin.

The team gave the following advice to Grade 12 pupils

• Create a study timetable and set goals for yourself

• Understand the topics that you are studying

• Don’t “cram” work

• Quiz yourself

• Different subjects call for different studying methods

• Choose surroundings that are conducive for studying

• Take regular breaks

• Plan ahead and review your notes

• Eat healthy food and get enough sleep

“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world, was Mr Nelson Mandela’s Motto.

“We want to take this opportunity to wish all the schools in our Zone with Grade 12 pupils writing this examination the very best. We have high expectations for each and every one of you. Good luck,” says Martin.
