Taking into consideration the number of fatal accidents in Roodepoort over the past few months, and with the festive season around the corner, when is enough, enough?

In just 12 weeks many Roodepoort families will be gathering around their christmas trees, opening presents and enjoying a special meal. Others won’t, as they will be mourning their loved ones who died on our roads.

In recent months a number of people were killed on William Nicol Road; two young men died after crashing into a tree on Ouklip Road; and last week at least two motorcyclists perished following horrific accidents on our roads.

While many would say that nothing could be done, I beg to differ.

We could drive cautiously and consider others.

Have your say: What is to blame for all these fatalities – the state of our roads, or the people using it?

Have a safe one.
