Man seriously injured in vehicle vs bike collision
"I saw pieces of the bike flying over the wall."
A man sustained serious injuries following a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle on Albertina Sisulu (Main Reef Road) early on Thursday morning 3 October.
An eyewitness who works at a scrap metal business says, “I heard a loud noise and saw pieces of a motorbike flying over the wall. I rushed outside and saw that a man was in pain. I tried my best to keep him calm until paramedics arrived.”
It is believed that the biker was about to turn into Albertina Sisulu Road when the vehicle crashed into him, with most of the impact on his right leg.
ER24 arrived on scene to treat the injured patient and transport him to hospital, while the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) kept traffic flowing.
The Record is awaiting comment from ER24’s Vanessa Jackson on the patient’s condition, and from JMPD’s spokesperson Wayne Minnaar on the events leading up to the collision.
