Famous band, Smokie to visit Roodepoort

Roodepoort — The legendary band Smokie that made a name for itself in every household and at every party thanks to songs such as Living next door to Alice will be making a stop in Roodepoort before their big gig in Carnival City this weekend.

Yes, you better believe it.

Smokie will be at Marshall Music and School situated at the corner of Jim Fouche and Hendrik Potgieter Road at the Allen’s Nek Retail Centre for one hour tomorrow (3 October) to meet and greet fans and students.

According to part owner of Marshall Music and School, Vanessa Maher, “We are extremely honoured to have them here. The purpose of their visit is to share some of their stories, meet and inspire those young and upcoming musicians and students who are still on a learning curve.

“All are welcome.”

The famous band is to visit the city two days before they are scheduled to perform at Carnival City in Brakpan on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October.

This famous band from the United Kingdom (UK) has been active and successful since the early 1970s. Some of their hit songs include Needles and pins, Living next door to Alice, Don’t play your rock n roll to me and Mexican girl.
