A suspected stolen vehicle was recovered on the night of Sunday, 22 March, by BCI Security in the Honeydew area.
A company staff member was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle parked in an open veld – an unusual spot to park – apparently abandoned.
“We put the licence plate and VIN number through the system and the results were positive for a stolen vehicle,” the Facebook post read.
The post further stated that police arrived on scene where a man claimed ownership of the car.
The alleged owner did not succeed in taking the car, instead he was taken in for questioning and the vehicle was impounded.
