Four injured in Peter Rd crash

All the injured, one seriously, were transported to a nearby hospital.

The twists and turns of Peter Road proved too much for a driver carrying several passengers. Four people were injured when the vehicle overturned on Ruimsig’s popular back road early on Sunday morning 26 January.

Early respondents to the scene – ER24 and City of Johannesburg Emergency Services among them – discovered the vehicle in a field several metres from the road. Three people were able to escape from it before paramedics arrived, but one person was trapped inside. Response teams used specialised tools to free the seriously injured person. All the injured were subsequently transported to hospital.

Werner Vermaak, spokesperson for ER24, confirmed, “The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.”

Motorists are urged to always drive with caution, especially on poorly lit roads.
