Very little hope for Blade’s education

The Constantia Kloof parent still struggles to get her son placed at a government school nearby.

The June school holidays are upon us, but the future of a 12-year-old remains uncertain.

Yvette Thompson, the mother of 12-year-old Blade seems to have reached a dead end in her attempts to find a place for her son in a government school close to her Constantia Kloof residence.

According to Yvette, financial constraints forced her to take Blade out of a private school last year to cut costs. She hoped that he would find a place in Constantia Kloof Primary School (CKPS), which Yvette said is four minutes away from her home and suitable for her son.

However, discussions between Blade’s previous school and CKPS resulted in Blade not being accepted at CKPS.When both schools were contacted regarding the matter, they advised that the problem was being solved at the District office.

Numerous attempts to get comment from the Gauteng Department of Education’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona were fruitless as he failed to respond to requests by either email, WhatsApp or telephone.

Anyone with suggestions to help Blade find a suitable school is requested to post it on our Facebook page, or to send an email to northside@caxton.co.za.
