Teachers and learners embrace their cultures

Fun, laughter and music were heard throughout the course of the event.

A euphoric atmosphere surrounded Weldridge Academy in Weltevreden Park when the school hosted its fun-filled Heritage Day on 30 September.

Learners were fizzing with excitement as they proudly embraced their cultures by wearing their traditional attire.

“The day started off with children from the senior phase performing dances from various cultures,” Danielle Deysel from the school reflected.

She added that teachers were part and parcel of the occasion. “The teachers were dressed in traditional outfits to be part of and share in the excitement of the day as we celebrated Heritage Day in true Welridge style,” said Danielle.

Fun, laughter and music were heard throughout the course of the event. The fun continued until the last bell when the little ones were dismissed for the third-term holidays.
