What dreams may become

HONEYDEW - Pupils explore the treasure of friendship through dreams.

Italy, New York City and Hawaii were some of the places the pupils of Dios Los Ninos School (DLN) visited during their school concert.

The concert, What Dreams May Become was held at the New Harvest Christian Fellowship on 23 September and took the audience on a journey through a child’s dream to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The dreaming child, played by Sethu Zwane and ‘Sandy’ the sand fairy, as the female equivalent of Mr Sandman, played by Lisa Mwenje, travelled all over the world, met and danced with different cultural groups and even took a ‘selfie’ with their newfound friends until they found what they were looking for, back in South Africa.

Principal of DLN, Leonie de Kock, said, “The concert was not inspired by something specific, it was just an idea we had. It is all about friendship with true friendship being the ‘pot of gold’ we are all searching for and, if you look for it, you will find it right here, at home.”

All funds from the entrance fee to the concert were donated back to the church. “We always give all the money back to them; the aim of the concert is not to raise money. It is there for the pupils and for them alone,” De Kock added.
