Ballet production to raise funds

FLORIDA – Randburg Rotary Anns organises Ballet de la Jeunesse production in order to raise funds for Abraham Kriel Childcare.

Ballet fanatics can look forward to the Ballet de la Jeunesse production that will take place at the Roodepoort Theatre on 18, 19 and 20 March.

The Randburg Rotary Anns organised the ballet production to raise funds for Abraham Kriel Childcare.

Randburg Rotary Anns volunteer Becky Augustine said that all the proceeds will go towards funding the education and development of the vulnerable children from the childcare organisation.

“Abraham Kriel Childcare is one of the charities we support that is dear to our hearts. We raised funds to organise the ballet production from different organisations and from people who also donated funds. We welcome people from all ages groups and residents from retirement villages to come and enjoy the exciting production. Retirement villages get two tickets free for every 10 tickets they purchase,”said Augustine.

She added that residents from retirement villages should call the Roodepoort Theatre to book the tickets and can only collect their tickets from the box office at the Roodepoort Theatre. Members of the public can book on the Roodepoort Theatre website.

“The response so far to the production has been poor. A lot of hard work has gone into making this production possible. We ask people to support the ballet production in order to raise funds,” explained Augustine.

Senior ballet dancer Conrad Nusser who is originally from Blairgowrie, plays the lead role as Lucien. Nusser said he prepared for his role by practicing six days a week for four weeks.

“I feel the initiative to raise funds is a positive initiative to help children in need. I am glad to be part of a production that is raising funds for charity,” explained Nusser.

Tickets are R140 per person.
