RUIMSIG – Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig school heads indulge us as we get to know them a little better.

Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig are proud of their dedicated principals who guide and mold the minds of the young people who will soon lead this diverse country we live in.

To do all this a school needs bold leaders that will push for success. Pre-Primary School Principal, Enone Minnaar along with Primary School Principal, Gayl Kennedy and High School Principal Deon Visser share passions and aspirations they hope will guide the school they cherish.

Minnaar said that she started teaching at Maragon Ruimsig about 15 years ago where she began as Grade 00 teacher. She recalled how she always wanted to be a teacher.”The rewards are so great when you see children grow and you know you had a hand in forming who they are,” said Minnaar. She added that her ties with the pupils do not just stop at the door as each one becomes part of her life.”Children at this age are so spontaneous and loving that it’s hard not to want to give them all you have,” said Minnaar.

Kennedy said that her teaching career has spanned 40 years. She divulged that her love for teaching started when she was just a little girl and would play teacher with her dolls. “It wasn’t until I was in matric that I realised this was my calling,” said Kennedy. She now looks to enjoying her final chapter of schooling but still intends to be involved in the development of teachers and leadership.

Visser said his seven years at Maragon Ruimsig have been inspiring. He explained that he had always wanted to run his own school one day. “Maragon Ruimsig is still a young school and I foresee us becoming leaders in education,” said Visser.

He explained that the school is making huge technological strides. “We are introducing blended learning. This encourages independence and creativity so that pupils are not too dependent on the teacher,” said Visser.
