GALLERY: Grade 1s are busy bees

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Busy Grade 1s of Welridge Academy were eager to take out their new stationery to colour a picture.

Eager and excited Grade 1s entered Welridge Academy in Weltevreden Park on 13 January.

Uniforms were neat and very new, school bags were bigger than them and pencils still sharp. The Grade 1s of Welridge Academy were too busy to have time for tears, while they drew pictures of their teachers. Excited pupils could not wait to show off their pictures to friends and new teachers. These pupils were happy and content with their new surroundings as if they had been there for a very long time.

It is clear that little to no tears were shed at Welridge Academy. Every now and then pupils looked up from their desks and gave a smile. New friendships were already formed between pupils as a flurry of noise and little voices filled the room. Madison Bolttler said that she is happy to be in Grade 1 and quickly dried her tears.
