Top gymnasts to represent SA at All Africa Games

HILLFOX – Talented gymnasts to represent SA at All Africa Games.

Every four years the continent gets together for the biggest African sport event for the cycle.

Once again, Visions Gymnastics based at Hillfox Value Centre are blessed to have members in the SASCOC team to represent South Africa at the Games.The Games will be held in Brazzaville, Congo from 2 to 17 September.

A local gymnast from Valeriedene, Bianca Mann, will endeavour to continue to build on her success in 2014 where she won no less than four medals at the Africa gymnastics championships. Mann was placed second in the all-around event and her performance helped the team achieve a gold medal. She then claimed another two medals on uneven bars and beam respectively. She then followed that up with a superb performance at the Commonwealth Games. In 2015 she made history to make consecutive finals at two world cup events and placed fifth and sixth. She was also crowned as South Africa’s top female gymnast at the 2015 senior national championships. Bianca will be aiming to turn the silver into gold this year.

Joining her in the team will be another local gymnast from Westbury – Eugene Ngcobo was selected to team SA for his specialist performance on four apparatus. He will be competing on floor, rings, vault and parallel bars and aiming for medals in these events. He is no stranger to the national team and has represented SA at 2014 African Gymnastics Championships, Commonwealth Games and Cottbus World Cup. Eugene or Stix as his friends call him, trains five hours a day and coaches youngsters to become future stars in gymnastics also.

Visions Gymnastics head coach Derick Scholtz said,”We are exceptionally proud of these two athletes and we hold thumbs for them and hope the competition day goes down as planned.”
