According to Darryl Heath from the rescue centre, the event aims to find these rescue dogs good homes, regarding the pampering and grooming of the dogs he stated, ‘if us humans can do it, why can’t dogs get pampered to look better and feel better?’

This was their second open day since they opened on July 1, 2022, and currently, they have over 40 dogs in their care. They have skilled staff, trained to take care of the dogs, walk the dogs and work with those that are traumatised and help them socialise and trust again. Before any of their dogs get adopted they do checks of the homes and their dogs are chipped, which means they can keep track of the dogs no matter where they are.

The dogs in their care get vaccinated, dipped and dewormed regularly, and Darryl said, ‘they eat like kings’.

Currently, the food for the dogs amounts to about R9 000 per month, which is why they are asking for sponsors to help.

The open day was open to any person interested in finding a dog, people can come to look at the dogs and interact with the small breeds, the power breeds people are also welcome to take a look at as long as it is with an escort.

Any person interested in donating can contact Darryl on 074 256 3620.
