Chanté is aiming for the stars

Chanté has been selected as one of a few Swallow15 Music School vocalists who will record a song and video as part of her musical CV and online brand.

Crawford International Ruimsig hosted the Con Spirito Eisteddfod on July 18 and 19.

In the first round Chanté Joubert participated in six events across the public speaking, speech & drama and vocal music categories on both days.

Chanté was the item winner for this region in the following events for Grade 10s:

English prepared reading 92% – Diploma: With her interpretation of an extract from Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, she is going through to the next Forte Round National Finals to be held between September 20 and October 1 in Alberton.

Afrikaans prepared reading 93% – Diploma: Based on her reading of Fanie Viljoen’s Onderwêreld she is going through to the next Forte Round; Vocal solo with backtrack – 87%. With Riana Nel’s Timbuktu, she is going through to the next Forte Round as well.

Other items she participated in were Vocal solo with backtrack 87% – Gold. She sang Sam Smith’s Writings on the Wall; Public speaking, own choice Afrikaans 88% – Gold; and Public speaking, own choice English 92% – Diploma.

“We are excited and are supporting her and her vocal teacher Danny Dippenaar as she will be doing her first-ever video recording of one of her songs over the next few days,” explained Anel Joubert.

Chanté has been selected as one of a few Swallow15 Music School vocalists who will record a song and video as part of her musical CV and online brand. She is recording her song this coming Thursday evening at Swallow15’s studio and the video recording will be done on Sunday August 7 at an outside venue.
