Body found on N14

The body was found on the side of the road. Police are still trying to establish the identity of the victim.

The body of a man was found on the N14 near Natural Value Foods in Muldersdrift on June 26.

The identity of the man is still unknown, and the Muldersdrift CPF chairperson, Charles Mbewe said the body had extensive injuries. It was discovered by passers-by, who alerted the police.

“There was blood on the road and the body was found further down. He was facing down and his left ear was cut off. The skin on his head had also been removed in two separate places. Unfortunately he did not have identification on him, and we are still trying to figure out who he was,” Mbewe said.

He said the bloody crime scene was testament that the unidentified victim had lost a lot of blood. Muldersdrift Police are investigating the case.

Captain Solomon Sibiya said the deceased did not have much in his possession except a bank card, and they are still trying to find out if it belongs to him. “He was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, and had head injuries.”

When cases such as these are brought to the police, officials first take fingerprints, which will reveal the person’s identity.
