Just after 7pm last night, 20 February, a white Toyota Land Cruiser was hijacked at the Sasol Garage on Viljoen Road, off Hendrik Potgieter Road in Ruimsig in brazen fashion. The gun-wielding criminals drove a white Mercedes-Benz A200.
A video sent to the Northsider shows the criminals pouncing on their target while the Land Cruiser was being filled up. The thugs came rushing from their vehicle and held the driver and other occupants at gunpoint, and ordered them to get out. It did not take long before they forced them out and escaped with the vehicle.

An informant at the garage, who was grateful that no one was injured, described the incident as a ‘quick job’ that lasted less than a minute.
Muldersdrift Police Station, which services that area, has been approached for comment.
