Word of the day

The word of the day for 22 November is: Strength.

The word of the day for 22 November is: Strength.

‘Strength’ is defined as the property of being physically or mentally strong.

McCallister Dodds said, “Strength is not just a condition of one’s muscle, but a tenderness in one’s spirit.”

You need mental strength just as much as physical strength, if not more. If you are unable to deal with daily struggles and difficulties, or if you do not have the emotional tools and strength to move forward, you will get nowhere.

William Ellery Channing said, “Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage. The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict.”

Difficulties are a part of life, we just need the strength to get through them and find the lessons in them. When we find the lessons, we can take a bad situation and use it to our advantage; we learn and grow.

The Dalai Lama said, “It is worth remembering that the time of greatest gain in terms of wisdom and inner strength is often that of greatest difficulty.”
