KCVA community patroller foils house robbery

Bravery and dedication the first steps in combating crime

Community activism and participation are the cornerstones of safe, secure neighbourhoods. Ensuring his community’s safety with his vigilance is Kruin Community Volunteers Association (KCVA) patroller, Superman Daton, who foiled a potential house robbery on Wednesday, 23 October.

When Daton noticed a suspicious vehicle in Stokroos Street, Breaunanda, he kept tabs it, following it to Dion Street in Helderkruin where he caught the would-be robbers attempting to lift a residential gate. The culprits fled before they could be apprehended, but Daton’s brave actions prevented the owner of that house from becoming yet another victim of our nation’s crime epidemic.

KCVA wishes to congratulate Daton on his fine effort and awarded him with the Hero of the Week Award. The KCVA works hard at communicating vital information to the community and again stresses the need for the public to be aware and cautious of anything suspicious.

The vehicle in question is a white Renault Sandero Stepway with a registration beginning with FK42. Should the public have any information, they are asked to contact the police or their local security company. A well-informed community with dedicated residents is the best defence against the scourge of crime that effects our areas.
