Grade 1’s excited to start big school

Public schools opened their doors for the start of the new school year on 17 January, marking the start of thousands of Grade 1s’ school careers.

The Record visited Ridgevale Primary School, and upon arrival, found the newest members of the school already in their classrooms, eager to learn.

The learners in Mrs Brenda Botha’s class were excited to show the Record’s readers what they can do, and, together with their teacher, they promptly recited a poem.

These Grade 1s were all very happy to finally be part of the big school, and could not contain their eagerness to start learning new skills, such as reading, writing and doing math.
