Update: “It was a murder-suicide,” says source

Neighbours hadn't seen the couple for a few days.

A reliable source who was in the house shortly after the bodies were found in Chironia Street in Helderkruin, told the Record that everything on the scene indicates that it was a murder-suicide.

The bodies were discovered about two hours ago (19 July) after the family of the deceased couple contacted their security company saying they were concerned about the fact that they had not been able to get hold of the couple since Monday (17 July).

Members of the security company broke down the door and discovered the grisly scene.

It is alleged that various shots were fired.

According to neighbours, they hadn’t seen the couple for a few days. The couple is believed to have been in their late 40s.

The Roodepoort Police are currently on the scene investigating, while the family arrived a short while ago.
