Same cafe robbed for fourth time

Café customer also fell prey to hijacking.

Just before 1pm this afternoon, 18 July, Lisbon Café, on the corner of Gregor Street and General Pienaar Avenue, once again fell prey to an armed robbery.

This is the fourth armed robbery at the café in three months. Recently, a vehicle was hijacked outside the business too. In the same time period, Nevada Café in Mcgrath Avenue was robbed twice.

Three men entered the store wielding firearms. They demanded the money from the cash register before fleeing in a silver/ black Ford 4×4. One of the owners ran out to get the vehicle’s registration number but one of the suspects pointed a firearm at him and threatened to shoot him. He then fled into the neighbouring store. Two of the men are allegedly wearing black while the third is wearing a red cap.
