Baby Moses SleepOut

Sleepout for Baby Moses

Baby Moses Baby and Child Sanctuary has been selected as a beneficiary of this year’s SleepOut charity event. They are one of 15 satellite beneficiaries that will receive assistance through the event that raises funds for various projects.

The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ is part of a global movement, effecting positive social change for vulnerable and homeless communities. It asks current and future business leaders to spend a winter’s night on the streets, raising funds and empathy for the homeless, and resulting in real change around the world. This year however, the movement is expanding to include Sympathy SleepOut, School SleepOut, Student SleepOut and South Africa SleepOut.

The events will take place in June and community members are urged to join. Those interested can register on the website https://theceosleepoutza.co.za/ and select the beneficiary they want to support.

Baby Moses caregiver Anest Myburgh said it was an honour to be selected as one of the satellite beneficiaries of such a big event. “It is truly a humbling experience. We want to encourage the whole community to be part of such an event. The whole month of June will be dedicated to SleepOut and anyone who wants to be involved can just pick a night. Register on the website and select Baby Moses as beneficiaries. All the money you raise goes directly to your chosen beneficiary. This is the first time Baby Moses will be a part of the event of which the first one in the country was in 2015 when 247 CEO and C-Suite members raised more than R26 million.

“It really changes our whole perspective as it is a great opportunity for us. We encourage the entire community to participate as the funds will help us create better homes for our children and assist even more children. It will ensure that they have warm clothes for winter, get proper education and enough to eat – it’s about maintaining stability in our current homes and providing the best possible care for the children,” added Anest.

The Roodepoort community and organisations are encouraged to support Baby Moses and the initiative by visiting https://theceosleepoutza.co.za/ to sign up.
