Two killed, one injured in accident
Two people were killed and one person injured in an accident at the intersection of Hendrik Potgieter and Jim Fouché Roads in Constantia Kloof on the morning of 8 May.The accident occurred when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found both the truck and motor vehicle in the left-hand lane of the road.

Upon closer inspection, the bodies of two people were found to be trapped in the front of the vehicle. Unfortunately, both men had sustained numerous injuries, which proved o be fatal. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene.
A third man was also found on the scene and assessed by the paramedics. Fortunately he only sustained moderate injuries and, after he was treated on scene, he was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this stage, but local authorities were on scene and the incident will be investigated.
