Photos: Two dead and one injured in horror accident
One person died after being taken to Leratong Hospital.
Two people have tragically died and a third was injured yesterday afternoon (27 April) when three vehicles collided at the South and Poplar Roads intersection in Lindhaven.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the three vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered a man, believed to be in his 50s, lying trapped inside his vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene.

A second man was found trapped inside a second vehicle. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he was in a critical condition. Rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life to free him man from the vehicle. Once freed, paramedics treated the man and initiated advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Leratong Hospital for urgent treatment. He unfortunately later succumbed to his injuries.
A third patient, a woman, was found walking around on the scene. Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained only minor injuries.

The woman was treated for her injuries and was thereafter transported to a Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
