According to reports received, Fleurhof residents have taken to the street to demonstrate their frustration with City Power by burning tyres and threatening the technicians on site.
They are unhappy because there is still no power, almost four days after the explosion at the Hebbard Street Substation.
According to a Facebook post by Caleb Finn, the councillor for ward 70 during repairs, technicians have located a second cable fault resulting in repairs being delayed.
“I realise the community is pushing for a time, these are the rough time frames; it takes around five to six hours to do the joining, then it will take approximately another five hours to fill with oil and pressurise and about two hours to test and start restoring. As things look now, it might take a minimum of another 12 hours,” he said.
