Drug dealer arrested

Suspect arrested for dealing drugs

A foreign national was arrested yesterday morning (6 October) for dealing in drugs. The arrest was made by the K9 unit, Warrant Officer Blomerus, Constable Crafford and officers from the Florida Social Crime Prevention unit.

The officers were patrolling in Florida when they received a tip-off about drugs being sold in Discovery. Acting swiftly, they spotted the suspects on The Cut.

Florida Police spokesperson Sergeant Mpho More said as soon as the suspect saw the police vehicle driving in his direction, he ran away.

“The police gave chase. They followed him to his room and upon searching him they found a small, transparent zip-lock plastic bag containing a white substance believed to be drugs,” she said.

Police searched his room and found another 22 zip-lock bags containing a similar substance. The suspect will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
