Local is lekker

His singing career started at the tender age of eight when he sang in Princess Primary's school choir.

He is a 24-year-old local lad with a passion for music and singing and he is in the Top 10 of Idols SA’s season 12, which is currently being broadcast on DSTV’s channel 161 on Sunday nights.

For Keegan Martin, music is his whole life. He is a singer and songwriter and knows exactly what he wants to do with his life and where he wants to be. His singing career started at the tender age of eight when he sang in Princess Primary‘s school choir. He did not stop there, and won numerous medals and certificates at Lantern School each year for participating in music eisteddfods and revues.

When he was 14 years old, he joined Dream Zone Ministries as part of their praise and worship team. From there he went to Logos Worship Centre in Maraisburg – and he just kept going.

Keegan has already achieved much in his musical career, from sharing an international gospel stage with Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Winans and VaShawn Mitchell to being a backing singer for Lee Ann Dlamini. Lee Ann was the supporting act for Tamia, the international R&B singer who performed at Carnival City in 2014.

Keegan decided to pursue his dream of becoming a musical legend this year and entered the Idols SA competition. He is currently one of the nine remaining contestants and his biggest hope is to emerge as the winner of this popular competition.

To help him achieve his dream, you can vote for him by sending an SMS containing the number 01 to 37400. You can also vote (up to 100 times) at no cost on the WeChat application (on your cellphone).
