Project Ou Toppie has kicked off

Please give your support.

Donations for the Ou Toppie Project have slowly started trickling in – but the community will have to step up if they want to warm more hearts.

The sports and motorcycle clubs have also been approached and some have already committed to donating. The Record asks that the community make up small gift bags containing soap, disposable razors, ear buds, a toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant. Please do not donate cash or individual items, since it could lead to the Record receiving three hundred tubes of toothpaste and only two razors, for example. Instead you can partner with someone else and together make up a bag. The Record also asks that no matter how kind the gesture, do not add other items since this would be unfair to the other recipients.

The beneficiaries will be male pensioners living off a state pension only in various specific state-owned old age homes.

Gift bags must be delivered to the Caxton offices at the corner of Ham Street and Generaal Pienaar Avenue in Witpoortjie. For more information phone Riaan van Zyl or Sony Antonie on 011 955 1130.
