Pelser baby’s mom to make first court appearence
Group to support mother at court.
The mother of the murdered six-month-old baby, Deon Pelser, will be appearing in court for the bail application of the accused – the baby’s 22-year-old father, Marthinus Pelser.
This will be her first appearance in court since Pelser was arrested in June. It is believed she will testify for the State in order to oppose bail.
Meanwhile, a Facebook group, Justice for Baby Deon, has invited its followers and the public to court in support of the mother. The organiser, Ronel Hayes wrote the following on Facebook: “Marthinus Pelser, ‘father’ of Baby Deon, the person accused in connection with the death of Baby Deon is applying for bail on Friday the 9 September. The family confidently maintained his innocence and said they believed he would be released on bail this Friday.
WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!! Baby Deon’s Mother has been asked to appear in court to oppose bail. I URGE everyone on this page to show up on Friday to support Baby Deon’s mom. And to show your support for Baby Deon. Please gather at Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court Room I. Time: from 8:30. If I could ask everyone who can make it, to please wear a WHITE shirt and jeans (any pants are fine if you don’t want to wear jeans)”.
