Eleven injured in Florida accident

Minor to moderate injuries sustained.

Eleven people were injured this morning after a taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the intersection of 8th and Goldman Streets.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 8.05am and found the light motor vehicle parked on the side of the road while the taxi had come to rest against a small tree.

They found that the occupants of the taxi had already climbed out of the vehicle and were walking around on the scene. An assessment revealed that ten occupants from the taxi, plus the driver of the light motor vehicle had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. No serious or fatal injuries were reported.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to the Helen Joseph Hospital for urgent treatment.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
