Bullet narrowly misses elderly woman during robbery

Armed robbers attack neighbours.

Crime keeps on spiralling out of control with another two armed house robberies in the suburb this past Friday night (8 July).

At about 7pm a woman arrived at her house in Leerdam Street. Just after pulling into her driveway an unknown number of suspects surprised her and pulled in behind her, said Frik van Zyl of West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW). They forced her into the house where her husband was.

A scuffle ensued and they shot him through his arm. After they had taken numerous valuables they jumped over the wall only to find the neighbours sitting outside. They robbed them as well and two more shots were fired. One of the shots narrowly missed an elderly women. The bullet went through her dressing gown and left flash marks on her skin.

The suspects fled the scene in a small white hatchback vehicle.
