Bianca Mann excels in Portugal

Visions Gymnastics’ Bianca Mann has proved that she deserves her title as South Africa’s 2015 Women’s Artistic Gymnast of the year.

She recently competed in the Fédération Internationale Gymnastique (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup, held in Anadia, Portugal. With the Olympic Games around the corner, this competition saw high calibre international gymnasts participating.

Bianca competed on all four types of apparatus, attaining a 17th place on Vault, scoring 13100; she was 15th on Bar, scoring 12 100; 21st on Floor, scoring 12 100 and 20th on Beam, scoring 12 700.

Earlier this month, she was named Africa’s 2015 Women’s Artistic Gymnast of the year. This occurred at the annual South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) Awards Ceremony at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg. Gymnasts, coaches, officials and administrators were all recipients of awards for the successes they achieved in 2015, with special awards handed out to members who had contributed over a number of years.

Bianca has worked hard, getting herself into top shape for the Artistic Gymnastics High Performance National Championships in Durban. At this competition, she will be looking to retain her South African All-round Crown. This event is scheduled to take place at the KwaZulu-Natal Artistic Gymnastics Academy on 1 and 2 July.
