Revenue Services to be revamped

City's Thuso House in Braamfontein to be upgraded to accommodate a growing customer base.

Upgrades to the center to which many residents are referred with the more serious billing problems commenced yesterday (Wednesday 25 May).

A growing client base warrants Thuso House Customer Service Centre in Braamfontein be upgraded, the city in a recent press statement said.

“The objective of the revamp is to create a friendlier and more welcoming environment for customers to engage with CoJ’s Revenue Shared Services department,” a release on the matter stated.

According to CoJ spokesperson Kgamanyane Maphologela, a state-of-the-art queuing system is also in the works, which is hoped to improve efficiency and customer experience.

He said the city will be mindful of the inconvenience to be experienced during the renovations.

“We are excited about the benefit to our customers, but would like to appeal to them to bear with us during this time, and apologise for any inconvenience that would arise in advance,” he was quoted saying.

To make it more bearable, a temporary office will be set up to continue the department’s services to walk-in customers. The temporary office will be operating from the ground floor of Thuso House, accessible from the business entrance at 61 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein.

During the revamp, Maphologela reminds customers of regional service centers and encourages the use of them.
