Nine-year-old in hospital but alleged drunk driver not arrested

According to her father, Abdul, the surgery was successful. Her face is still swollen but the doctor said that was normal. Abdul also said the family is relieved that Rubeina is once again talking to them after she was traumatised to such an extent that she was unable to talk after the accident. The family will now request that counselling commence.

Meanwhile, the family has finally received a case number from the Metro Police. A case of reckless driving and endangerment has been opened.

Abdul alleges that the Metro Police never tested whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
