Cricket season winding down

The Florida Cricket Club’s junior team finished the season in fourth position in the league series. Their game against Alberton 7th XI at the Art Farm turf occurred earlier in March.

The Florida Cricket Club’s team were the first to field after they lost the toss. In the first 12 overs, Alberton had already lost five wickets however this would not deter them. Jared Thompson came in at 7 and wrecked the Florida wicket party. Scoring 93 off only 65 balls helping his team reach 192 runs.

James Enslin, once again held the perfect line to remove the bails and slap the pads of three victims.

The outstanding batsmen for Florida were Zaid Essop who took the opening partnership to 73 runs and adding 50n runs to his personal tally. However, he lost his wicket on the very next ball after reaching his milestone. Next was Dylan Nicholas who recorded o push with his 44 runs. But this was not to be enough as Florida fell short of Alberton’s score by 25 runs.
