Musician into the limelight

From using music as a means to escape to becoming one of the young artists making an impact in the industry, this young musician is ready for the big stage.

Tshepisong’s Nkosinathi Patrick Khoza who uses Npk Twice as his stage name is a poet, rapper and blogger.

It has been five years since started recording in a studio in 2010 and has proved that passion, perseverance and hard work pays off.

Although he was born in Nelspruit in 1994, he calls the West Rand home.

His name Npk Twice comes from his initials and the Twice was added by a close friend. He is part of production group Havoc Gang.

His rise to stardom started after he was a finalist the Popular e.tv Shiz Niz’s 2014 Mix tape King in October.

He won the 2012 Red bull strictly hip-hop and has appeared on Metro FMs Rap Activity Jam and Hip-Hop Titans’To Watch List For 2016.

That is not the end of his accolades as he was Hype Magazine’s Newcomers Delight and Dynamix Magazine’s August 2014 Week’s Find.

He released his first official mix tape titled Rappers Are In Danger which received positive feedback and reviews.

He was first South African rapper to be on Jay-Z’s streaming service Tidal.
