Video: Eight hosptalised after head-on
One vehicle allegedly made U-turn.
Eight people had to be hospitalised last night after a head-on collision at the corner of 5th Avenue and Kliprand Street.
A Toyota Conquest with two occupants was travelling on Kliprand Street when the driver allegedly decided to make a U-turn at 5th Avenue. Another vehicle, a Golf with six occupants, which was travelling in the same direction then crashed into the Conquest.
All eight occupants sustained moderate to serious injuries which included head injuries. They were treated on the scene by various emergency services, including ER24 and Netcare 911, before being taken to hospital.
The accident remains the subject of an investigation by the relevant authorities.
