Massive Mandrax bust by Florida Police
Value estimated between R90k and R120k.
Two members of Florida Police, Inspectors Riaan Jooste and Riaan van der Berg, arrested a man this morning with mandrax worth between R90 000 and R120 000.
According to Van der Berg they received a tip-off from the community at around 11am of a suspicious white Mercedes Benz in Harold Street. On arrival they saw the vehicle without a registration plate. They started enquiring as to who the owner is at the Constantia Dawn complex and eventually tracked the owner down.
They asked the suspect if they could search his vehicle to which he agreed. At the bottom of the spare wheel they found a bag inside another bag containing 1691 mandrax tablets.
The suspect was arrested ant detained at Roodepoort Police Station.
