Update: Honeydew Police comments on murder case

Waiting for forensic test results.

After a widow, Alezia Vermeulen, complained about the lack of feedback from Honeydew Police regarding her husband’s, Quintin Vermeulen, murder case, Honeydew Police Station has released the following statement.

“A case of house robbery and murder is currently being investigated at the Honeydew Police Station. Currently no suspect has been arrested regarding the incident,” said cluster spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs.

“The evening of the incident the SAPS K9 unit followed a blood trail and some of the property as well as a unlicensed firearm were recovered.The blood trail, however, stopped at one of the tar roads where it is believe that the suspect’s transport picked him up.

“The following day all the clinics and medical facilities, in and around Honeydew, where visited but to no avail,” she explained.

“Currently we are awaiting feedback result from the Pretoria Forensic Laboratory, regarding exhibits that were send for analysing.

“Unfortunately no ID kit could be drawn up of the alleged suspect,” Jacobs concluded.
