Honour Wrestling committing to charity

The wrestling match which will start at 7pm on 5 March will entertain the community in aid of charity.

Honour Wrestling Association in conjunction with Xtreme Wrestling Entertainment and South African Pro Wrestling are giving back to the community.

They will be holding a wrestling match at Hoërskool Die Burger next month in aid of Fred en Martie’s Soup kitchen.

What makes this soup kitchen so special is that it has been feeding the poor of Newlands and Claremont for 37-years.

The soup kitchen gives lunch packages for 65 children daily who come from poor backgrounds, 80 children from Hoërskool Die Burger receive lunch packages and 350 children from the community who cannot afford to be fed by their parents.

The cost of feeding one child a month costs the soup kitchen R350. They urge those who want to donate to come forward and assist.

The soup kitchen not only feeds these disadvantaged children but also clothes them from donated items.

As the soup kitchen does not open during the weekend, parents are given weekend lunch packages to feed the children during the weekend.

Fun activities are also arranged for the children to keep them active and busy so they don’t end up in the streets.

Not only does the community receive from the soup kitchen but they themselves give back by helping with the vegetable garden, sewing donated clothing items and preparing the lunch packages.

The wrestling night will have big names from each of the wrestling organizations such as Xterminator, Karwats, The Jackal, Max Detonator, Warlock and 2Face.

The wrestling match which will start at 7pm on 5 March will entertain the community in aid of charity.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the soup kitchen. Tickets are priced at R20 per person with children under five-years-old getting in for free.
