Art teacher wins Bic competition

Art for grade R teacher leads her to cash prize.

Grade R teacher Doris Hamilton of Victory House Private School in Florida recently walked away with a cash prize of R5 000.

This comes after she entered the BIC Art Challenge.

This is a school art competition that recognises young talent and encourages learners to tap into their creative skills, bringing excitement to the school classroom and awards cash prizes to the winners.

The competition is part of BIC’s educational roadshow across Gauteng.

The ‘Choose BIC and Change a Future’ initiative has donated over five million pens to assist lesser-resourced learners across South Africa where many impoverished communities have little or no income for stationery and many of the pupils share pens or write with pencil stubs.

The school art competition and roadshow is part of BIC’s ongoing commitment to tackle the challenges of education and literacy in South Africa, and improve the standard of learning by contributing quality resources and writing instruments, which are lacking at many schools.
