Verdict coming up for alleged sexual offender

Trial of the 33-year-old alleged sexual offender comes to an end.

The magistrate presiding over the case of an alleged sexual offender will soon make a call as to his guilt in the alleged incidents.

The trial of the 33-year-old suspect came to an end this morning (Monday 15 February) in Court E of the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court. According to a trusted source the case has been postponed to Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 May, when the verdict will be given by presiding Magistrate Delise Smit.

Alleged sexual offender’s alibi tested

The man was arrested in 2013 after allegedly offering a 17-year-old Hoërskool Bastion pupil R200 to perform oral sex on him, among other allegations. During the trial the charges relating to the case were reduced from nine to six after some alleged victims withdrew before testifying.

He pleaded not guilty in 2014. Due to the case involving underaged children, his name has not been made public.
