Most ridiculous laws of all time

In Guinea, it is illegal to call a baby Monica.

It is illegal for pregnant women to wear hats in Madagascar.

National Absurdity Day was created to note some of the most unusual happenings in history in the country and globally.

Today is also the day where you can do something that does not make sense, or create your own crazy laws and get away with it.

For an extra twist, here are a few of the weirdest African laws you probably did not know:

•It is against the law to purchase a television without obtaining a license beforehand.

• In Oklahoma (United States of America) you can be fined, arrested or jailed for making ugly faces at a dog.

• In some parts of South Africa, if a woman wants to open a bank account or make a loan, the bank must obtain permission from her husband first.

• In Thailand it is illegal to step on money.

• In Sudan, if you assist an injured person who was in an accident and they die while you are trying to help them, you are legally responsible for their death and a charge can be made against you.

• It is apparently illegal in Massachusetts (New England)  for a man and a woman who rent a room for the night to sleep in the nude.

• It is against the law to take photographs in Chad, unless a permit has been obtained. Chad, officially the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest and Niger to the west.

• In Utah you can marry your cousin, but only if you are both over the age of 65.

• If you are convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison in Sudan, the government only provides you with lodging. Food and other necessities are not provided.

• It is against the law to swear in public in Kenya.

• In Kenya, it is also against the law to walk around with no cash.
