Women reminded of their inner lionesses
Wonderful women celebrated, empowered in school hall.
Over the weekend dozens of women gathered and united against abuse at the Wonderful Women Ministries’ annual conference.
The event held at Florida Primary School was organised by WWM, a non-profit organisation that focuses on spiritually councselling abused women and rape victims. They made it their personal mission to create awareness and rehabilitate victims of abuse to also enjoy healing, wholeness and a fulfilling life, founder Nicola Campos-Real said.
The morning, attended by many women and their daughters in the community, consisted of various items of entertainment, gospel music and inspiring speakers. The central theme was ‘Flourishing your inner lioness’, meaning to alert women to the bravery and confidence each have at heart. Words like ‘peace’, ‘love’ and ‘hope’ decorated the stage in the beautifully-set school hall. In one corner a mannequin was dressed in warrior gear. The congregation of women later enjoyed a hearty lunch.
Miss India South Africa 2015, Sherianne Pillay, and her sister Kimberly also attended the event.
