Katja’s judeka’s bring medals home

Darian May brought up the rear with a bronze medal.

The novices from the KJK-Katja Judo Club were successful at the recent South African Schools Judo Championships in Turffontein.

Moagi Molefe, Aiden Cronje, Lance van der Walt and Christelle Goliath won gold at the tournament.

Tyla Stacey Hale, Carlin Anthoney came back with silver medals while the bronze medals were awarded to Tyrique Bessit and Juan Swart.

In the advanced section, Dewald Schultz, Keenan May, Tian Vorster and Ruan Delport won gold medals while the silver medals were awarded to Nico Pieterse, Morne Venter, Shawwal Bagaria.

Coach Katja Bruwer was beaming with pride at the success of her pupils and is awed by how well they did at the competition.

“I am very proud of my pupils and they have brought joy to me as a coach. We’ve had superb support from the senior pupils and the parents and I would like to say thank you to them,” she said.
