5 reasons why you should read

Reading improves focus and concentration.

Everyone knows reading is important but do they really know how important it is?

Enjoy your Sunday morning by celebrating National Read A Book Day and increase your knowledge.

Here are reasons why reading is good for you:

1. Reading stimulates the mind. Studies have shown when your mind is stimulated, the risk of you getting Alzheimer’s or Dementia is lower.

2. Reduces stress. When you read you are automatically distracted which allows you to forget about stressful situations for a while.

3. Expands your vocabulary. The more you read, the better your vocabulary as you will be introduced to words you may not have known.

4. Your memory is improved. When you read a book, you tend remember different characters, their backgrounds and the plot of the story.

5. Better writing skills. The more words you are exposed to, the better you will be at writing.
