Police issue licensing station warning

Shenaigans at licensing station continues.

The Florida Police and Community Policing Forum (CPF) once again warned the public not to fall for criminals’ scams outside the Florida Licensing Station.

People are requested to take note of the following tips to avoid becoming victims:

• To refuse any offer to queue on your behalf to avoid being a victim.

• Never give your money to anyone offering their help alleging that they will speed up the process.

• To follow the queue and refrain from accepting favours in order to skip the queue.

• To seek information from the staff members to avoid being conned.

• Some criminals may approach you dressed in security uniform, offering their assistance alleging that they will speed up the process.

• Criminals have already conned (robbed) many people targeting especially women and the elderly people.

• The area around the caravan where photographs are taken, handbags and valuable items have been stolen; therefore people are urged to be alert.

The Florida Police request members of the public to pass this message to their families, acquaintances and friends to try to curb the problem.
