Do your part to clean up Roodekrans

Region C director Mlamleli Belot invites residents to participate in their Integrated Citizen Outreach Programme (iCOP) in Wilgerood Avenue next Monday (27 July).

“Wear comfortable or protective clothing and get ready to get your hands dirty to get your streets clean,” Community Engagement officer Cecile Retief said.

A lot of their focus in Ward 83 (Roodekrans, Wilro Park, Breaunanda, Princess Crossing and Helderkruin) will be on Roodekrans streets; clearing out illegal dumping sites, cleaning the stormwater river, pruning trees, clearing up road markings and evicting vagrants and illegal traders from the area, Retief said.

Inspectors from the Citizen Relationship and Urban Management (Crum) department will set up tents in the parking grounds of Pick n Pay on CR Swart Avenue to help residents deal with service delivery issues.

The Department of Health was also invited to participate, Retief said.

Other departments that will be lending a hand include Joburg City Parks and Pikitup. Ward councillor Suzanne Clarke will also be attending.
